A few hundred romance novels have recently come in to my possession. I love thinking about the western landscape as a place that humans project their desires on to. I have loved reading
the almanac from
Silverland Gallery run by Leah Ruby. When displaying these fine specimens of 1980's western lust, I also included a page of the almanac. Sorry the photos are blurry.

Here are some other ideas that I like about the novels:
-their background images create wonderful western landscapes as dyptics.
- for a novel to fit in to the literary camp of romance it needs to end happily. This guaranteed happy ending is a kind of safety structure that interest me.
- they are written by women for women
-they are escapism literature which always becomes very popular during bad economic times, like now.

Sorry for the pathetic documentation.. will try to post some better images.
