The Flog
During this up coming spring holiday I am going to L.A for few days with a small group of students and two wonderful teachers. I am getting excited and just wanted to share with everyone The Flog. It is run By French artist, Fette and is a blog that archives nearly everything that is going on in the L.A. art community. It is a great resorce and just fun to look though. Fette has also started a gallery in 2006. Check out Fette's gallery as well as The Flog.

Things I am looking at

When recently looking at Richard Serra's work ( see two blogs below) I began thinking about architecture, constructed space v/s natural spaces (and if natural spaces can still exist) and the idea that the level in which you invest in a space as a viewer or participant is what dictates what that space gives. This investigation in to other artist that deal with the realities of constructed spaces lead me to discover Olafur Eliasson. Check out his web site and especially Take Your Time. The Videos are neat.

Face Animation Experimentation
I Have been experimenting with theses new face shapes and characters that have appeared in my images lately. For me this is just play. Any thoughts.. please let me know.
I am more interested in the closes up one. The mouth stuff was unsuccessful for me and not an idea I care about.

A Brief Highlight From A day In L.A.
Just got back from a wonderful visit with friends in CA. Here is a brief highlight from a day in LA: We went to LACMA and loved Chris Burden's lampposts.

we wished we could have seen it at night.....
Here is a image of Richard Serra work that we saw while at LACMA When we walked (and if you were Ried, ran) though this peace no one was around and it its an experience I am still thinking about.
